I Can't Live Without ItMarch 10, 2011 by CrookRacing

In the April issue of Motocross Action, team owners, riders, and mechanics were asked what they can't live without at every race.  Oscar Wirdeman, James Stewart's mechanic said:

"I'm always working with my hands, and to keep them from getting scraped up, I wear Mechanix Wear gloves.  They fit like socks and also keep my hands warm on cold nights at Supercross races. I use these gloves to do most everything when working on James' bike."

It's like music to our ears...

Hendrick Motorsports Building Training FacilityFebruary 10, 2011 by Cory The RookRacing

Hendrick Motorsports Building Training Facility
The difference between winning and losing can be measured in thousandths of a second, which is why NASCAR teams are serious about increasing the athletic ability and performance of their pit crews. Crew members race the clock and every second lost in the pits can equate to 100 feet of track. Human performance is crucial to every win which is why Hendrick Motorsports is building an outdoor pit crew training facility that will allow crew members to work out doing sprints and shuttle runs on a six-lane, 60 yard track. The facility will include a 75-yard Astroturf field and 40-by-40 foot sand pit solely dedicated to improve strength and conditioning. In the race against time the most explosive and conditioned crew has the winning edge.

Mechanix Wear Celebrates 20 Years in RacingFebruary 10, 2011 by Cory The RookRacing

Mechanix Wear gloves have come a long way since our debut at the 1991 Daytona 500 in the pits of the No. 3 car. Back then a team of small designers led by our very own R&D expert Brian Lunniss further developed a motorcycle glove to improve dexterity while adding tough materials for durability to create the first high performance glove. Not only did this new glove improve safety for NASCAR® pit crews, it also allowed crews to work faster. Twenty years later we have developed a glove line that includes 77 different models designed to protect and improve performance for almost every task.  Mechanix Wear is the #1 Glove in NASCAR®
