Hand Injuries occur in the workplace every 32 seconds. With that being said, the use of proper hand protection is estimated to reduce 70% of hand injuries. According to the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) the financial cost of hand injuries is more than $300 million per year in lost production time, medical expenses, and workers compensation. For many, the use of hand protection isn't mandatory and in many instances overlooked. Truth is, reducing the impact your hands take when performing certain tasks can protect your joints from excessive wear as well as prevent blistering, cuts, heavy impact, as well as being aesthetically disfigured. Losing a finger in an accident can have ramifications on how individuals go through their day-to-day.In our focus to spread the word that "Our roots are in racing, but our gloves are everywhere," we produced a new television commercial that highlights a few of the diverse markets that you can find our gloves.

Mechanix Wear is happy to have a display in the Nascar Hall of Fame retail store in Charlotte, NC. 15,000 - 20,000 patrons visit the store each month and our presence in the store solidifies our place in Nascar history. Our roots are in racing but our branches reach out to a multitude of safety applications. Mechanix Wear truly is the tool that fits like a glove.



Mechanix Wear is working closely with teams on the new fuel system and six-man pit crew approach in order to develop safety equipment for the new cross-positions. Brian Lunniss, head of R&D, understands the concerns facing the nature of Ethanol 15, which is more flammable and corrosive on engine components. Pit crews will have to fine tune their choreography in the pits to adjust to the new six man stop and fueling system.

Mechanix Wear hosted a Commercial Appreciation Event at Lowe's of S.W. Concord, NC on September 15th. In recognition for being valued commercial accounts of the store, customers were rewarded with a free pair of MW Original gloves.
We were lucky to have Doug Kalitta's Top Fuel drag car on site, which will be raced this weekend at the O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals in Charlotte, NC.


In addition to our full page ad, Mechanix Wear has been featured in the PM Upgrade section in a “PM Abusive Lab Test,” found on page 40 in the October issue. PM tested three brands of work gloves to see how they compared in withstanding abrasion, heat, and puncture.

Early this year we were contacted by EA Sports about supplying gloves for use in the development of the next Medal of Honor video game. EA Sports had learned about our gloves from the seasoned special operations military personnel they hired to consult and model for the game development.
